Crypkey Error Messages
Messages
- Error Calculating Site Code: Entry file could not be opened - This means that there is some sort of permission problem. The only way to usually correct this is to:
- Uninstall the program
- Rename the PCSW directory
- Reinstall the program
- License the program & copy the data from the old folder into PCSW
- You are trying to license another companies program - This can mean that the number of options in the SKW program doesn't match the number of options used when encrypting the program.
Check the SKW configuration to make sure the number of options match.
WinCWU.CKN/WinCCB.CKN Error Messages
- E=-19 NETWORK NOT ALLOWED - You have installed and setup the License Server version of the program on a Workstation. But the Server was not issued a Network Site License (Floating License).
Go to the Server and bring up the License Screen and give them a Network Site License. (Enable the Network License option in Step 3)
- -102 NETWORK DRIVER APPEARS NOT TO BE SERVING IN DIRECTORY - The user does not have full access to the directory.
Make sure the user and group have full access to the directory.
I had once instance where the user had full access but the group didn't. Once I changed the group to have full access the program came right up.
- -103 THERE WAS A PROBLEM SENDING LICENSING INFORMATION OVER YOUR NETWORK
There are several things that can cause this error. Listed below are several things to try and should be run in the order listed.
- Setupex - Setupex may not have been run yet. You can run
ckconfig to check to see if it has been run. If it hasn't been run
then do so, this should fix the error.
- Esnecil.ind - The file Esnecil.ind maybe corrupt. This is the
file that holds the computers license. Run a search on the computer and
delete the file. It should be located in the \Windows\System32 or
\WinNT\System32 folder.
Note: You will have to give the person a new site license as you have
just deleted their's.
- Setupex - Remove all the crypkey files and start from the
beginning.
- Start -> Run -> Command
- CD\PCSW
- Setupex /d
Note: There should be a message saying the crypkey files have
been removed and that you need to reboot for the changes to take
effect.
- Reboot
- Copy setupex.exe and cks.exe from the CD into the
PCSW folder.
- Run setupex
- File Cryp95e.dll could not be found messages on a Windows XP. This means the Compatibilty Mode is turned on for the files WinCWU.exe / WinCCB.exe. Turn the Compatibilty Mode off.
Properties -> Compatibility (Tab) -> Run this program in compatibly mode for (checkbox)
Note: I had one instance on Windows XP Home where there was no Compatibility (Tab). There was one when you looked at the Properties of the Icon itself. It was set to Windows 98/ME. By changing it to Windows 2000 the program came up without the error.
There was no way to turn-off the Compatibility Option altogether in this one case.
- When you click on setupex.exe you get the following message:
Unable to register directory because the license server is not running
- Start -> Run -> Command
- CD \PCSW
- setupex /d
- Reboot
- Start -> Run -> Command
- CD \PCSW
- setupex
